Hi, I bought my TV second hand and after a few months of buying it I noticed it makes a slightly audible high pitch sound for a few seconds when I turn it on. Why is it happening, is it a sign that it will breakdown soon?
Chances are it is caused by loose laminations on a horizontal transformer which vibrate at a frequency you can hear until it warms up. It does not mean that it will break down soon. This answer is purely educated guesswork and most any TV problem would be easier to analyze with a hands on inspection.
