Energy Star

The question was asked”Question for someone who owns a Energy Star room air conditioner?

I just moved to an apt and installed is an energy star room A/C unit. It gives two options for cooling: Cool and Energy Saver. I figured the energy saver would save me $$ but im worried bec it kicks off when the room gets cool then kicks back on a few mins later. Wont that constant on-off actually cost me more? Should I just leave it on Cool at all times?

Yes..I have one as well. When its on energy saver mode, the fan is actually running more then the AC. It takes a lot more power to kick on and run the Cooling Unit then to just run the fan. Your best option is to try it a month. I honestly have noticed no difference.

” Hope that helps!

The question was asked”My Samsung air conditioner is not heating. Stopped working after a power failure.?

My Samsung split system air conditioner suddenly stopped heating after a power failure. It still cools etc. I have tried everything suggested in the manual. Any ideas or do I have to get a technician out.

if it’s a newer unit the circuit board is probably bad, they cost around $100

Cable Tv Booster

The question was asked”How do I build my own cable-TV amplifier without actually having to buy a pre-constructed one?

I’m well aware that I can go spend up to $50 on a cable-tv amplifier that plugs into the electricity and boosts the incoming signal, but given I’m sure I have the capacity to build my own and all the necessities to do such, I’d rather just create one. I can’t find any blueprints online anywhere for what the inside of a standard booster actually looks like, where the use of the electricity actually comes into play. Any help out there on building one? Thanks in advance.

An amplifier needs electricity from an outside source to make more signal. There are ways to feed the power for an amplifier on the coax, but that is not what you are asking.

Really, you are just as well off buying an amplifier, unless you understand RF engineering and electronics construction principals.
